Best Start is an Ontario government early learning and care strategy designed to help give our children the best possible start in life. The initiative aims to ensure children are prepared and eager to achieve success in school by the time they start Grade One. The Ottawa vision is to build "a collaborative community engaged in ensuring that ALL children have the best and most equitable opportunity to achieve their full potential.
The Best Start Planning Toolkit brings together a range of existing resources and know-how to support Best Start planning bodies in their efforts to strengthen existing partnerships and make decisions on how to best organize services to meet the needs of families and young children in their neighbourhoods. It has been designed to promote local capacity to develop a sustainable, community-driven, evidence based plans for the implementation of Best Start.
